Hooray for Scholastic Books!

They're doing the right thing.

They're taking back the materials they sent out about Path to 9/11, the ABC mockudrama that's set to air on 9/10 and 9/11, and instead sending out materials that teach critical thinking.

It's not as good as pulling the sponsorship of this atrocious pack of lies but at least they're teaching kids to be smart about materials presented to them.

Now I can go back to my plan of buying a set of Encyclopedia Brown books for my nephew, the geek. (Yes, my poor little nephew has every sign of geekhood, just like his aunt. He is obsessed with Titanic trivia. My sister made the mistake of letting him see Titanic by James Cameron when he was about 4. Other kids want Blues Clues. He wants documentaries about the Titanic, the Lusitania, etc. MAJOR geek in the making.)
